Meet the Master William Huaman Taype

I was born on November 15, 1970, between the regions of Cusco and Apurímac, Peru. I grew up in a rural family rooted in ancestral knowledge. From a very young age, a vocation awakened in me, along with a natural gift for the art of healing and a deep desire to understand medicinal wisdom.

As a Curandero working with sacred ancestral medicinal plants, this path has accompanied me throughout my entire life.

My first teacher was my grandmother, Paulina Tenqo Shanti, who carried knowledge of both Alto Misa and Pampa Misa traditions. She was a guardian of master plant wisdom and healed her community at a time when modern medicine did not exist in remote regions. From her, I learned respect for nature and all living beings.

My second teacher was Jesús Ccana Ttito, also trained in both Pampa Misa and Alto Misa. Through these lineages, my understanding of ceremonial work, healing, and spiritual responsibility deepened.

Today, I work within the Quechua–Amazonian tradition as a Curandero and Shaman. With this knowledge, I have shared ceremonial and healing work in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Egypt, the Czech Republic, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and other countries.

I currently work with 247 medicinal plants, four of which I bring with me for healing work in Europe. Among the principal plants I work with are Qotoqoto, Erkan Puri Sasawi, Seri (Rapé), Wachuma (San Pedro), and Ayahuasca, among others.

I have received recognition and certifications from cultural and regional institutions in Cusco for my contribution to the preservation, transmission and sharing of traditional Andean knowledge, rituals and ancestral practices connected to the land and indigenous cosmovision.

The healing process I support works on multiple levels: spiritual, emotional, energetic, and personal. Each process unfolds according to what the person needs in order to develop balance, harmony, and well-being.

The duration of any treatment or process depends on what the body requires and the nature of the imbalance being addressed.

Over time, I also undertook pilgrimages through the three regions of my country, beginning in the Andean lands of Cusco. I walked through sacred ceremonial sites honoured by my ancestors and came to know the Apus, the mountain guardians who protect and guide us. This journey has always been guided by a single intention: to cultivate peace, harmony and love in this physical world in which we live.
